I am a political communication scholar with expertise in rhetoric and the American Presidency. My scholarship has been published in Argumentation & Advocacy, Disturbing Argument, and my premier book is titled Presidential Power, Rhetoric, and the Terror Wars: The Sovereign Presidency.

A Senior Lecturer in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Department of Communication and Media, I am experienced teaching courses on political communication, research methods, public speaking, and social movements.
